If you are using a Mac remember that your file name must end with a dot followed by a three letter file extension. The most common extensions in which Mac files can be saved are .txt, .rtf (MS Word), .fdr (FinalDraft). And don't forget the dot (.) Please consult the program in which you have created your file for instructions on how to save it this way.
Mac users, you can also convert your file to html or PDF and it will be accepted via the Registration Management form. WriteSafe recommends html and PDF format for Mac files because then they can be read by all visitors, regardless of what type of computer or operating system they are using. If you are a Mac user and would prefer to send your material as an e-mail attachment for WriteSafe to manually register for you, the directions are here. Please note that an additional $5 service charge will be deducted from your account so please make sure you have an adequate balance.
If you are a PC user who has opened an account but is having a problem with Registration Management, you too can send your material from here. An additional $5 service charge will be deducted from your account so please make sure you have an adequate balance.
Your registration number will appear alongside the name of your file the next time you log into your personal REGISTRATION MANAGEMENT PAGE, whether it be the day after your uploaded your material or the next minute. If you send your file as an e-mail attachment please allow 24 hours for your number to appear. Make sure you keep your number in a safe place. This is your proof of the existence of your work in this way at this time.
